Par gets with the 'Groupies'

Thesps Poehler, Fisher will take exec producer credits

Paramount continues to show a recent fondness for laffers, acquired the female buddy comedy pitch "Groupies," with Amy Poehler and Isla Fisher aboard to star.

The duo came up with the idea for the pic and will take exec producer credits. John Goldwyn is producing with "Saturday Night Live" honcho Lorne Michaels through his Broadway Video along with the company's Jill Messick.

Storyline finds Poehler and Fisher in the world of rock groupies. Erica Rivinoja will pen the script. UTA brought the talent together and packaged the project.

Poehler is currently one of the standout stars on "SNL" thanks in large part to her co-anchoring duties opposite Tina Fey on "Weekend Update." She had a role in the Par comedy "Mean Girls" and next stars in "Mr. Woodcock" and "Southland Tales."

Fisher turned heads for her comedic turn opposite Vince Vaughn in the New Line hit "Wedding Crashers." She next stars in "London" and will soon lense "The Pleasure of Your Company."

Rivinoja's writing credits include the script "Senior Week," another Paramount project Goldwyn and Michaels are producing.
