LONDON -- Shane Danielsen will step down as artistic director of the Edinburgh Film Festival after next year's 60th edition.
Danielsen took up Edinburgh's reins in 2002, and always said he would stay for five years. The search for his successor will begin in January. Event takes place in August.
"Shane is an excellent curator with a great commitment to this festival," said fest chair John McCormick. "We will miss his skills and expertise but look forward to August 2006. He hasn't gone yet."
