Paramount has named Eric Kops senior veep of national publicity.

Kops will lead the department in strategizing and executing national film campaigns for Par's bigscreen efforts, including upcoming rollouts "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," "Aeon Flux," "Yours Mine and Ours" and "Mission: Impossible 3." Based at the studio's Melrose Avenue HQ, Kops reports to exec veep of worldwide publicity Nancy Kirkpatrick.

Exec joins from MGM, where he most recently served as exec veep of worldwide publicity, working on films including "Die Another Day," "Hotel Rwanda," "Ghost World," "Saved" and the franchises "Legally Blonde" and "Barbershop."

Kops started his career at Par as an intern. Before his tenure at MGM, Kops was a veep at MPRm, where he worked on campaigns for "L.A. Confidential," among other rollouts. He also served as a field manager at Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.
