Commitment extends the original eight-week order to a full 42-week run, the same as "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart."
Four-night-a-week skein has averaged 1.2 million viewers per episode, or 86% of its "Daily Show" lead-in.
"The Colbert Report" has "seamlessly paired itself with 'The Daily Show,' " said Comedy Central exec VP of programming Lauren Corrao. "Giving the show a full-year order was one of the easiest decisions I've ever made in my career."
Laffer net's other recently launched latenight efforts -- "Weekends at the D.L." and "Too Late With Adam Carolla" -- have met with less success and have yet to be renewed.
