Landmark verdict for BitTorrent

World Brief

In a landmark copyright case involving BitTorrent technology, Chan Nai-ming was found guilty Monday by a local court of "attempting to distribute an infringing copy of a copyright work to such an extent as to affect prejudicially the owner of the copyright, without the license of the copyright owner."

He was arrested in January after customs officers found that someone had uploaded three different movies -- "Daredevil," "Red Planet" and "Miss Congeniality" -- to a local BitTorrent discussion forum.
