FRB sings Grammy tune

Show will air live from Shrine Auditorium

AFTRA and the National Latino Media Council have announced that the first Spanish-language production of the Latin Grammy Awards will be produced by FRB Prods. under an AFTRA agreement for its broadcast on Univision.

Show will air live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Nov. 3.

AFTRA noted in the announcement that negotiations with Univision's competitor Telemundo for a national agreement have been stalled since July. The union said Telemundo is refusing to meet with AFTRA concerning representation of broadcast employees in its upcoming "Premio de la Gente" awards show.

Rebecca Rhine, AFTRA's assistant national exec director, said the Univision pact should prompt Telemundo to resume negotiations. "This contract belies the Telemundo claim that AFTRA is singling them out while leaving their competitor alone," she added.
