G4 to look at graphic games

Net to air vidgame special on Oct. 26

The history of violence in videogames will come under the spotlight when G4, the network dedicated to the lifestyle of gaming, airs an hourlong investigation Oct. 26.

Spec aims to take an objective, in-depth look at the state of the industry, featuring interviews with politicians; game designers; industry officials; media figures; and Craig Scott, a former pupil at Columbine High School.

Gore orgies such as "Doom" and "Grand Theft Auto" have consistently come under fire from politicians. The release of "Night Trap" and "Mortal Kombat" prompted Senate hearings in 1993 and the formation of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board.
