Robert De Niro's Tribeca and Georgaris' Penn Station are producing.
The French film, starring Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil as detectives heading plainclothes divisions at Paris police headquarters, centers on the quest to solve a series of armored car robberies with a promotion going to whoever catches the perpetrators.
The Gaumont release copped three French Cesar nominations last year -- best picture, director for Olivier Marchal and actor for Auteuil.
Producers on the project, which Par is calling "36," will be De Niro, Tribeca partner Jane Rosenthal, Georgaris and Penn Station partner Michael Aguilar. Paramount co-president of production Brad Weston and VP Marc Evans will oversee for the studio.
Forster ("Finding Neverland," "Stay") is in final negotiations to helm the project, which will be set in a major U.S. city.
De Niro and Rosenthal are producers on "Rent," the feature version of the stage play, which Sony's releasing in November.
Penn Station's also developing a remake of "The Crazies" and "Alister Arcane." Georgaris' credits include "Paycheck" and "The Manchurian Candidate."
