Davis reups deal at Fox

Shingle has produced pics 'Dolittle,' 'Robot'

Prolific producer John Davis, a mainstay of the Fox stable for more than a decade, has extended his first-look deal with 20th Century Fox for five years.

Davis Entertainment's productions for Fox have included "Garfield," "I, Robot," "Behind Enemy Lines," the "Dr. Dolittle" pics and "Courage Under Fire."

"John's extraordinary track record speaks for itself," said Fox president Hutch Parker in a statement.

"John and his team led by Wyck Godfrey [Davis Entertainment prexy] have consistently delivered and have been exceptional partners," Parker said.

Davis Entertainment began its deal at Fox in 1994 and its previous pact was to expire next year.

Upcoming Davis/Fox collaborations include fantasy adventure "Eragon," starring Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Robert Carlyle and Ed Speleers, and "Garfield 2," now in production.

Davis Entertainment's credits for other studios include "Daddy Day Care," "Paycheck," "Heartbreakers," "The Firm," "The Chamber," "Waterworld" and "Grumpy Old Men."

Davis just wrapped production on "When a Stranger Calls" and is prepping production on the Eddie Murphy comedy "Norbit."

Davis has produced over 70 movies and TV projects.
