Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will co-finance and distribute the film worldwide. Producers are Sergio Aguero and Kerry Heysen.
Scribe Carol Fuchs adapted the screenplay from the 2001 German feature "Bella Martha," written and directed by Sandra Nettlebeck. Story centers on an obsessive and controlling chef whose solitary life is turned upside down when she assumes guardianship of her young niece and a new cook arrives at the restaurant where she works.
Village Roadshow's Bruce Berman and Store Front Pictures' Susan Cartsonis are exec producing.
Cartsonis produced "What Women Want" and "Where the Heart Is," while Aguero exec produced "Y tu mama tambien."
Zeta-Jones stars opposite Antonio Banderas in Martin Campbell's upcoming "The Legend of Zorro" from Sony.
