Fox is taking another stab at "101 Ocean."
Net is redeveloping the hourlong drama from 20th Century Fox TV. Matt McGuinness ("Pepper Dennis") will write the new pilot script, with Matt Walden and Debbie Gruber remaining aboard as nonwriting exec producers.
Walden and Gruber devised the concept for "101 Ocean" last year, imagining an hour about an upscale apartment building in Santa Monica populated by a number of men in the midst of getting divorced. Skein would explore the men, their secrets and the women in their lives, combining elements of "Melrose Place" with a male take on "Desperate Housewives."
Project didn't snag a pilot greenlight last year, but Fox has decided to take another pass.
Jeff Rake, who wrote the original pilot, is now running the Fox dramedy "Head Cases." He's expected to remain attached to "101 Ocean" as a producer.
Likewise, idea for "101 Ocean" was set up with New Wave Entertainment when Walden was based at the company. He's since left, but New Wave will remain attached as a producer.
