NGC lets 'Dog' off the leash

Millan skein grows to one-hour format

National Geographic Channel renews the pooch, with the second season of "Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan." The show will be expanded to a one-hour format and promoted to primetime.

The first season of the doggy rehabilitation series was broadcast as a half-hour strip. However, NGC decided to give the popular show more leash.

The show's star and co-producer Cesar Millan has tamed terriers, soothed shih-tzus and pacified Pekingese for urban police departments, as well as average citizens and numerous Hollywood celebrities and executives including Will Smith, Michael Eisner, Hillary Duff and Oprah Winfrey.

Millan has signed with branding agency Don Buchwald & Associates, and has future projects in international syndication, DVD, a book and a weekly column for Web site pets911.com.
