'South Park'

Comedy Central stalwart 'South Park,' now in its ninth season, will remain at the net through 2008.

Comedy Central has inked a deal with "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone that keeps the network's top-rated series on the air through 2008.

Laffer net has committed to 42 episodes, or three more seasons, of "South Park" over the next three years. Parker and Stone will continue to write, direct and edit every episode of the show.

Order brings the series tally to 182 episodes. A sanitized version of the "South Park" bows in syndication Sept. 19.

"Matt and Trey are creative geniuses and a huge part of the Comedy Central family and we look forward to continued success," said net prexy Doug Herzog.

Emmy-nominated "South Park" is in the middle of its ninth season. Fresh segs premiere Oct. 19.
