The brothers -- who are exiting their contract with the Walt Disney Co. and Miramax Films on Oct. 1 to launch their own media entity -- have leased 27,000 square feet of office space at 345 Hudson St.
New address will house the temporarily named Weinstein Co.'s production and other ranks. But those staffers will need to head further downtown to take meetings: The brothers themselves are staying put at 375 Greenwich St., where they have bought back from Disney two floors of Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal's Tribeca Film Center.
Meantime, Disney is shopping for space in Soho to house its post-Weinsteins Miramax unit.
Under the Weinsteins' reign, Miramax once occupied a swath of buildings, including 99 Hudson St., 11 Beach St. and 161 Ave. of the Americas, which still houses the Miramax Books division.
At their new address in the Hudson Square/Tribeca nabe, Weinstein Co. staffers will be rubbing elbows with execs from publishing group Penguin Putnam, also located at 345 Hudson.
Deal was brokered by commercial realtors at Newmark, Brian Waterman and Lance Korman.
