'Reeker' smells right for sales shop

Horror pic to preem at Toronto

'Reeker'

'Reeker' will bow at the Toronto Film Festival.

Los Angeles-based international sales outfit Cinema Management Group has picked up international rights to indie horror thriller "Reeker," penned and directed by Dave Payne ("Addams Family Reunion").

Pic makes its market debut at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival. CMG, run by former Miramax exec Edward Noeltner, will screen the film on Sept. 10.

Story centers on five students sharing a ride to a party in the desert when they encounter haunting visions of mutilated travelers at an abandoned oasis resort.

Devon Gummersall, Derek Richardson, Arielle Kebbel, Eric Mabius and seasoned actors Marcia Strassman and Michael Ironside star.

"Reeker" was produced by Tina Illman, Dave Payne and Amanda Klein, co-founder of Primal Pictures and currently VP of feature film production at Pariah. Exec producer is Ronnie Apteker.
