Paramount has plan for 'Christmas'

Waters and Tuchinsky will produce through Watermark

Paramount wants to be "Closed for Christmas," snapping up Craig Doyle's buddy comedy pitch and setting up the project with Mark Waters, Jessica Tuchinsky and Tom Lassally.

Story's centered on a detective who's transferring a fugitive when weather interferes and forces him to bring the prisoner home to his small town for the holidays. VP Matt Jackson is overseeing for Par.

Doyle most recently wrote "Raised by Ghosts" for MGM and "The Last Good Guy" for Happy Madison and Revolution. He's currently a consulting producer on the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced series "Modern Men" for the WB.

Waters and Tuchinsky will produce through their Par-based Watermark shingle. Duo signed a first-look deal in May and have since set up an adaptation of "Looking for Alaska" with "The O.C." creator Josh Schwartz writing and directing.

Lassally, who's producing through his Kustom Entertainment banner, is in post-production on "Stay" for Fox and Regency, and on "First Snow," starring Guy Pearce. He's also set up "Forget About It" at New Line and is producing "Monkey's Paw" with Sam Raimi at Mandate.
