Company, which just bowed real estate docusoap "Million Dollar Agents" on TLC, is in the process of opening a Los Angeles office. West Coast development and production execs are expected to be tapped shortly.
In addition, North South is launching a Gotham-based comedy division. Producers Ari Fishman and Thom Hinkle have been charged with developing unscripted laffers, reporting to North South exec producer Charlie DeBevoise.
Hinkle most recently served as producer on North South's "In a Fix," which recently wrapped its run after 100 episodes on TLC. Fishman spent the past six years working on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," most recently as a producer on the "Indecision 2004" DVD.
On the programming side, North South -- headed by DeBevoise and Mark Hickman -- said it's in post-production on a pilot for A&E but wouldn't divulge details.
In addition to the new L.A. office, North South has branches in Gotham; Miami; and Knoxville, Tenn. It has produced programming for TLC, A&E, Discovery Health, E! and HGTV.
