Former MGM exec Debra Nathin Solomons has been named VP of domestic publicity for Warner Bros. Pictures' Gotham office.

Hire was announced by Warner exec VP of domestic marketing Debbie Miller, to whom Solomons will report.

In the gig, Solomons, who started in the post Monday, will oversee New York-based publicity activities supporting the release of Warners pics. She will supervise the team of publicists stationed in the Gotham office, coordinating with the three Burbank-based publicity teams who handle the studio's domestic slate.

Until recently, Solomons was senior VP of East Coast publicity for MGM Distribution, a post she had held since 1994. Before that, she was a senior publicist for TriStar Pictures in New York.

Solomons replaces Maggie Schmidt, although Schmidt won't exit Warners' New York office until the fall.
