Oh Really it's true

Walden inks with ex-exec's prod'n shingle

Philip Anschutz's Walden Media has signed a first-look production deal with Oh Really Prods., headed by former Walden production exec Joseph del Hierro and partner Dan MacDonald.

Oh Really will be based at Walden's Los Angeles headquarters.

"Joe understands the Walden brand inside and out," said Walden exec VP of production Alex Schwartz. "His great eye for material and strong relationships are ideally suited for the types of projects we develop."

Before launching Oh Really, Del Hierro served as VP of development and production at Walden on such projects as "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe," "Carlisle School," "Kid Mayor" and "Biblionauts."

He previously worked at ABC Network Movies as VP of development and production for movies and miniseries for "The Wonderful World of Disney," with projects including "South Pacific," "The Music Man," "Oliver Twist," "Sounder" and "Eloise at the Plaza."

Besides "Narnia," Walden is partnered with Paramount, Nickelodeon and Kerner Entertainment on "Charlotte's Web" and with New Line on "Hoot" and "How to Eat Fried Worms."
