HONG KONG -- "Zhou Yu's Train," the Chinese tearjerker that played out of competition at the Berlin festival, will be remade as a television series.

Sun's pic, starring Gong Li and Tony Leung Ka Fai, was the story of a woman torn between a dissolute poet whom she travels to see and a hedonistic doctor she meets on the train. Overseas sales were split between Hong Kong's Media Asia and Good Machine Intl. In North America pic was distribbed by Sony Pictures Classics.
