Regan's got Sirius talkshow

Pub queen gets weekly yakker

NEW YORK -- Publishing empress Judith Regan will launch a weekly talkshow this fall on Sirius Satellite Radio featuring frank, "intimate" conversations with authors and media figures such as Jenna Jameson, Tommy Franks and runaway bride Jennifer Wilbanks.

Regan says the show will provide authors -- celebrity and non-celebrity alike -- a venue for talking about life and work beyond in-store book signings and without the indecency strictures placed by the FCC on TV and terrestrial radio.

"My favorite thing to do is have intimate conversations," Regan said. "The freedom to have conversations that are unlimited and frank and free-flowing is very appealing to me."

"The Judith Regan Show" will debut on Thursdays in October; a channel and exact time for the two-hour talker hasn't been determined.

"Her energy and candor will translate perfectly on Sirius," said entertainment prexy Scott Greenstein.

Regan, whose ReganBooks is an imprint of News Corp.'s HarperCollins, said the radio show does not preclude a return to television; Regan hosted a talker on Fox News Channel until 2002.

But she said the idea of doing radio is liberating.

"There will be no burkhas and no Botox; I can age gracefully on radio," she said.
