CineVegas honors 'Father'

Good 'Memory' recalled at film fest

LAS VEGAS -- "In Memory of My Father," from writer-director-producer Christopher Jaymes, has won the jury prize at the 2005 CineVegas Film Festival. Ensembler explores the final days of an aging Hollywood producer and his troubled relationships with his three sons.

Jury comprised indie filmmaker Allison Anders, thesp Anthony Mackie and L.A. Weekly film critic Ella Taylor.

Audience award went to "Buy It Now," writer-helmer Antonio Campos' film about a 16-year-old girl who decides to sell her virginity online.

Honorees over the course of the nine-day event, which ended Saturday, included Christopher Walken, Ann-Margret, Nicolas Cage, Samantha Morton, Wim Wenders and George Romero.
