'Stolen' steals doc prize while 'India' wins Euro feature award

Fellow American Rebecca Dreyfus won the documentary trophy for "Stolen," her detective tale about the unsolved art heist at Boston's Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum. Doc also nabbed the prize for score, given to composer Peter Golub by the French Union of Film Music Composers.
After making more than 40 short films, French scripter-helmer Yann Piquer won the European feature award for relationship comedy "The Trip to India."
"Mana, Beyond Belief," a globe-trotting look at the spiritual power of inanimate objects, directed by Peter Friedman and Roger Manley, saw its five cinematographers sharing the lensing nod.
Hal Hartley was on hand for a mini-retrospective, capped by the French preem of "The Girl From Monday."
Fest, founded and programmed by transplanted Texan Jerome Henry Rudes, is dedicated to showcasing independent films -- both shorts and features -- from the U.S. and Europe.
