Rudin comes aboard the project to produce with Killer's Christine Vachon. Wells will exec produce the pic, which is aiming for a fall start date.
Killer had been developing the script since Vachon nabbed the rights to "Goat" last year. David Gordon Green, who is set to helm, was then brought aboard to pen an adaptation, which caught Rudin's eye.
"When I went after the book, we thought of David immediately," said Vachon. "I think that Scott was also a fan of the book, and a fan of David's. When he saw the script, he knew that David had pulled it off beautifully."
Pact brings together two of Gotham's most prominent producers in Vachon and Rudin. Cinetic Media is hammering out financing on the pic.
Killer's Jocelyn Hayes and Katie Roumel are overseeing.
Initially published by Random House and excerpted in GQ magazine, "Goat" chronicles Land's experience as a psychologically shattered 19-year-old struggling to bounce back from a brutal attack.
Hirsch can currently be seen in "Lords of Dogtown." Green directed "Undertow."
