Cabler also has acquired rights to Norton's 13-episode Comedy Central talker "The Graham Norton Effect," performance specials from Margaret Cho and Suzanne Westenhoefer and several episodes of standup showcase "Comedy Central Presents."
MTV Networks music group entertainment prexy/Logo prexy Brian Graden says comedy is a major initiative for Logo, which is slated to launch in about 10 million homes on June 30.
"Humor connects people to one another by shining a light on our common experiences, idiosyncrasies, frustrations and triumphs. These new comedy series signal Logo's commitment to showcasing a complete range of the important voices and perspectives found within the LGBT community," he said.
Cabler has ordered up six episodes of "Wisecrack," which features perfs from Judy Gold, Alec Mapa, Vicki Shaw, Miss Coco Peru, Doug Holsclaw and Page Hurwitz. Shows were taped at West Hollywood venue the Abbey.
Logo has also slated the Stateside bows of 10-episode skein "Graham Norton in New York" and five-seg "V Graham Norton." Both programs were originally produced for and aired on the U.K.'s Channel 4.
Other original programming debuting on the net includes the Los Angeles drama "Noah's Arc," reality show "Open Bar" and travelogue "Out and About." Logo will also air the first-ever telecast of the GLAAD Media Awards on July 24.
