World Brief

Video-on-demand content provider Jupiter VOD has reached a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Intl. TV for a package of current and library titles for its VOD and SVOD service in Japan.

WB titles will be added to its offering July 1. It already has similar deals with Buena Vista Intl. TV Distri-bution and MGM Intl. TV Distribution.

Jupiter VOD was set up a year ago and is a 50/50 joint venture between Jupiter Telecommunications, the largest broadband and cable service provider in Japan based on customers, and Jupiter Programming, the country's largest provider of multichannel TV programming. It began commercial operations in January.
