Romantic comedy tome follows a young New York woman who enlists in the CIA. Tribeca's Jane Rosenthal is producing the pic.
"Loose Lips" has the "potential to be one of those rare films that's fun, funny, and entertaining while actually saying something of significance," Chick said. "It's a picture of the CIA that looks a lot like the BBC's 'The Office.' "Chick is inked for now to pen the script, but there have also been some early discussions about him helming.
Chick wrote and directed "XX/XY," starring Mark Ruffalo, which preemed at the 2002 edition of Sundance and was released in 2003 by IFC Films. He is also adapting Arthur Nersesian's novel "Manhattan Loverboy" for Cherry Road Films.
Tribeca's Hardy Justice will oversee the pic as well as co-produce. Universal production prexy Donna Langley and development director Kristin Lowe will shepherd "Lips."
This summer, Tribeca puts spy drama "The Good Shepherd" into production, co-financed by U and Morgan Creek. In September, Revolution and Sony will release the feature adaptation of the musical "Rent."
