Ward led the public relations, photography and broadcasting and print productions departments for Turner Broadcasting's Major League Baseball franchise. He joined Turner in 1996 and was director of public relations for TNT and TBS, directing press outreach on live TNT concert-event tributes to John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley and Brian Wilson; the annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on TNT; and ratings, marketing and branding stories for both networks. He also worked with Turner Sports on NBA, NASCAR and PGA Golf programming airing on the networks.
Ward joined Turner from Showtime Networks in Los Angeles. Earlier in his career he handled personal and event-publicity clients at Baker/Winokur/Ryder and Michael Levine Public Relations.
