Previously, such a logo has appeared only on comicbooks and graphic novels. DC Comics is a division of WB.
"This new logo and branding program is a statement that the DC brand is a strategic asset and vital tool in our approach to creating and developing films, television, merchandising and games," said Warner Bros. Entertainment exec VP of corporate business development Kevin Tsujihara.
This fall, WB will release "V for Vendetta," based on the DC Comics series of the same name. Production is also under way on "Superman Returns."
New DC Comics company logo was created by Josh Bateman of Brainchild Studios. It will make its first debut on the May 25 cover of DC Comics. Animated version will premiere June 15, when "Batman" unspools nationwide.
