'Medium' large for NBC

The first original episode of psychic drama "Medium" in four weeks performed well for NBC on Monday, helping the net capture the night in key demos, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

From to to 11, "Medium" (5.4 rating/14 share in adults 18-49, 14.2 million viewers overall) stood as the night's top show in adults 18-49, defeating repeats of CBS drama "CSI: Miami" (5.0/13 in adults 18-49, 15.5 million viewers overall) and ABC unscripted series "Supernanny" (3.0/8 in adults 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall).

It was a tight battle in the night's middle hour, with repeat CBS comedies "Everybody Loves Raymond" (4.8/12 in adults 18-49, 15.5 million viewers overall) and "Two and a Half Men" (4.5/11 in adults 18-49, 14.8 million viewers overall) finishing in a virtual demo tie with Fox's "24" (4.6/11 in adults 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall). NBC's "Las Vegas" (4.4/11 in adults 18-49, 11.6 million viewers overall) was also just off the pace but moved out to the lead among adults 18-34 (4.1/11), while ABC's "The Bachelor" ran fourth (3.4/8 in adults 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall).

NBC's "Fear Factor" won the 8 o'clock hour (3.9/11 in adults 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall) ahead of Fox's special marriage edition of "Nanny 911" (3.0/9 in adults 18-49, 7.2 million viewers overall).

Preliminary adults 18-49 averages for the night: NBC, 4.6/12; CBS, 4.1/11; Fox, 3.8/10; ABC, 2.9/8; WB, 1.8/5; UPN, 1.2/3.

In total viewers: CBS, 13.1 million; NBC, 11.9 million; Fox, 8.9 million; ABC, 7.7 million; WB, 4.9 million; UPN, 3.0 million.
