New chief for ABC overnight

Sheridan will also coordinate 'America' segs

NEW YORK -- Former "Today" producer Chris Sheridan has been named executive producer of ABC's "World News Now" and "World News This Morning."

The ABC broadcasts, anchored by Ron Corning and Heather Cabot, air overnight on weekdays. Sheridan also will coordinate segments for "Good Morning America."

As overnight producer, Sheridan will "set the table" for "GMA," cueing up stories for the news segments of the show.

Before "Today," Sheridan was a senior producer for MSNBC's "The News With Brian Williams."
