Specs, slated to begin bowing next year, will be produced by Court TV's "In Pursuit of Justice" public service initiative and NPR. "Justice Talking" is a weekly radio show offering debate on hot-topic legal battles.
"Our goal is to raise awareness, encourage discussion and shine a light on the American system of justice -- and, where appropriate -- injustice," chair-CEO of Court TV Henry Schleiff said. "While Court TV does not take a position on these issues, the network is committed to using its diverse resources to encourage more informed dialogue among those who could change and improve our society."
First hour will weigh in on prison reentry issues from inside the Ellsworth Correctional Facility in Kansas. Cabler's Catherine Crier and "Justice Talking's" Margot Adler will co-host the program. Second spec will review highlights of this year's Supreme Court term and examine the future of the High Court.
"Justice Talking" exec producer Kathryn Kolbert called the partnership "a natural fit."
"By combining the strengths of radio and TV, we can reach new audiences and bring new voices to the airwaves," she said.
