HOLLYWOOD -- Gold Circle Films has paired with Wes Craven's Craven/Maddalena Films to produce "The Waiting," an indie horror pic penned by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White.

Craven/Maddalena prexy Marianne Maddalena and Gold Circle prexy Paul Brooks will produce the film; Craven will be an exec producer on the project.

Described in the vein of '70s horror staples like "Don't Look Now" and "Rosemary's Baby," story follows a woman who believes she is being haunted by the ghost of her deceased child.

Snowden and White most recently collaborated on the script for "Boogeyman," starring Barry Watson. Distribbed by Screen Gems and produced by Sam Raimi's Ghost House shingle, pic has grossed over $40 million domestically since its release on Feb. 4.

Craven and Maddalena recently completed production on DreamWorks' "Red-Eye," starring stars Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy.

Also slated for production is a remake of Craven's "The Hills Have Eyes," directed by Alex Aja and Gregory Levasseur. Pic's set up at Fox Searchlight, in turnaround from Dimension Films.

Craven/Maddalena Films VP of development Alix Taylor will co-produce "The Waiting." Wendy Rhoads will co-produce for Gold Circle, with Zak Kadison overseeing production for Gold Circle.
