Story concerns a psychiatrist who murders an exec's clingy mistress and wants him to return the favor by killing the shrink's sister.
Producing are Arnold Kopelson and Anne Kopelson, with Sherryl Clark as executive producer.
David Seltzer adapted the Patricia Highsmith novel. Rand Ravich did a rewrite. Polly Cohen is the Warners exec on the project.
Alfred Hitchcock first adapted "Strangers on a Train" in 1951, with Farley Granger and Robert Walker in the starring roles.
Murro is attached to direct DreamWorks' "All Families Are Psychotic," a project Murro found after vacating "The Ring Two" director's chair over creative differences.
In January, Murro won the Directors Guild of America award for directorial achievement in commercials.
