Thomson and
Screenvision have announced the launch of the
Technicolor Digital Cinema, the world's largest digital distribution network for pre-show advertising in U.S. cinemas. TDC will provide technology, network operations and digital content management system exclusively to Screenvision and its theater advertising customers. Screenvision provides ad services to 15,000 screens; 5,000 will get digital projectors for their pre-show ads. The network is for advertising only but can be adapted later for digital distribution of feature films.
