NEW YORK -- The Florida Film Fest is set to kick off tonight with an East Coast preem of Sony Pictures Classics and Alice Wu's "Saving Face."
Romantic comedy-drama stars Joan Chen in the story of a Chinese-American lesbian and her traditionalist mother, both reluctant to go public with secret loves that clash against cultural expectations.
Pic will preem at the Enzian Theater in the Orlando suburb of Maitland.
Other highlights of the fest will include Paul Reiser and Peter Falk appearing as part of the fest's "An Afternoon With" program.
The duo star together in the upcoming "The Thing About My Folks," which will also screen at the Florida fest. Reiser will further be presented with an Artistic Achievement Award and Falk with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Fest runs through April 18.
