Scribes land Spielberg gig

Pair ready to pen DreamWorks thriller

John Glenn and Travis Wright have been hired to write a script based on the untitled Steven Spielberg idea that kicked off Kurtzman/Orci's first-look deal at DreamWorks.

Thriller follows an innocent man who must go on the run when he becomes a target for the powers-that-be.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci produce under their two-year DreamWorks pact, which they signed last fall (Daily Variety, Oct. 14). Studio execs David Beaubaire and Jeanne Allgood oversee the project.

Last year, Glenn and Wright sold their pitch "Radiant" to Sony for McG and Wonderland Films. Other credits include "The Warriors" for Paramount Pictures and MTV Films and "Journey to the Center of the Earth" for the Zanuck Co.

Kurtzman and Orci are best known as exec producers of ABC's "Alias" but also rewrote "The Island" and "The Legend of Zorro" for DreamWorks.
