Insolvent German TV giant Kirch Media has inked a package deal giving Internet service group 4Friends video-on-demand rights to 160 titles.
Three-year agreement covers German rights to pics including "Blade," "Rush Hour," "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Lost in Space."
Munich-based 4Friends will offer the pics via its Web portal.
For a monthly price of €9.95 ($12.92), subscribers have access to unlimited downloads.
The company's growing catalog is expected to include 1,000 titles by year's end.
It is in negotiations with international sales companies for VOD rights to more than 1,500 films.
