Vet filmmaker John Milius is taking his first crack at a videogame.
The "Apocalypse Now" scribe, who wrote and helmed "Conan the Barbarian" and 'Dillinger," is writing Electronic Arts' upcoming vidgame "Medal of Honor: European Assault."
Milius created scenarios and characters and wrote dialogue for the game, which follows a U.S. Army officer trying to track down a deadly new Nazi weapon as he travels through several of World War II's best known European battles.
Scribe also helped game developers integrate the story into real historical events.
"This wasn't individuals doing a vision of their story, like in a film," Milius said of his first experience writing a game. "I contributed story ideas that artists would take pieces of that they were able to realize visually."
The 60 year-old Milius, who said he doesn't play vidgames, had his first exposure to them in the early '90s when Steven Spielberg showed him his collection of PC games.
"European Assault" is currently in production at EA's Los Angeles studio for release this summer.
It's the latest edition of the publisher's long-running "Medal of Honor" WWII battle simulation franchise.
