Ramis and Grace will develop the film with Double Features partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher, who'll produce. Shamberg and Sher made a deal last year with Friendster CEO Jonathan Abrams to use the friendship and networking site as the catalyst for a romantic comedy.
Their pitch intrigued Ramis as well as Grace, who is wrapping his tenure on "That '70s Show" and who starred "In Good Company" for U. Each will have input in the draft Nash is working on. Scribe penned "Youth in Revolt" for Lions Gate and is writing "Tommysaurus Rex" for Universal and Shady Acres.
Sher said Grace sparked to the chance to play a character looking for love while navigating technology such as instant messaging, camera phones and Internet porn.
"It's about going from the illusion of electronic intimacy to real intimacy," Sher said.
