'Massacre'
Continuing to dominate the national album sales chart, 50 Cent's sophomore disc, "The Massacre," sold 771,000 copies in its second week. The rapper now can claim the two biggest sales weeks of the year to date.
"Massacre," released by Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, sold more copies than the albums ranked Nos. 2-14 on Nielsen SoundScan's chart for the week ended Sunday.
Jack Johnson's "In Between Dreams" (Brushfire/Universal) was a distant second, selling 117,000 copies in its second week, while 50 Cent's former running partner, the Game, sold 86,000 copies of "The Documentary" (Interscope) to take third.
The Killers, pegged by many as an emerging superstar act, entered the top 10 for the first time, nine months after the release of "Hot Fuss" (Island). Disc sold 54,000 copies to land at No. 9, lifting cume to 1.3 million.
Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society had the highest debut as the Artemis act's "Mafia" sold 41,000 copies in the biggest sales week for the former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist.
Other debuts include country singer Craig Morgan's "My Kind of Livin' " (Broken Bow), selling 22,000 to open at No. 40, and Kasabian's self-titled debut on RCA, which sold 10,000 to come in at 94.
