Jennifer Lopez will reteam with her "Selena" director, Gregory Nava, on her next pic, "Bordertown."

Budgeted around $20 million and financed through Mobius Entertainment, pic is slated to begin production in New Mexico and Mexico April 30.

Nava-scripted dramatic thriller concerns a journalist who investigates a series of murders near American-owned factories on the border of Juarez and El Paso.

The film will be produced by Nava and Barbara Martinez Jitner's El Norte Prods., Lopez and Simon Fields' Nuyorican Prods. and Mosaic Media Group. Mobius' David Bergstein and Tracee Stanley Newell will exec produce.

"Bordertown" was originally developed at New Line Cinema, where Nava once had a first-look deal.

Lopez next stars in "Monster-in Law" for New Line. That pic bows May 6.

Nava's last pic was the Frankie Lymon biopic "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?," which he directed for Warner Bros. Pictures in 1998.
