Sam Jackson is in talks to star in "Flight 121," a New Line thriller that will start production in May. David Ellis, who helmed "Final Destination 2" and "Cellular" for New Line, will direct.

Jackson plays an FBI agent on a long quest to bring a ruthless mob boss to justice. He finds a witness and takes him on a commercial flight from Hawaii to L.A. Trouble is, the mob boss has loaded the cargo with all kinds of venomous snakes.

Pic was originally scripted by John Heffernan and most recently rewritten by Sebastian Gutierrez ("Gothika"). Don Granger and Craig Berenson are producing; New Line's Stokely Chaffin, George Waud and Jeff Katz oversee the project.

Jackson is about to start work in the Joe Roth-directed "Freedomland" opposite Julianne Moore. He recently wrapped New Line's "The Man" alongside Eugene Levy and will next be seen reprising roles in sequels "XXX: State of the Union" and "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith."
