HOLLYWOOD -- A cast is coalescing around Sean Lennon's indie screenplay, with commercials/musicvid director Michele Civetta attached to helm.
Lennon has penned a script based on the Japanese novel "Coin Locker Babies" by Ryu Murakami ("Almost Transparent Blue"). Also credited as scribes are Jordan Galland, Peter Kline and Civetta.
Negotiations are under way with Vincent Gallo, Liv Tyler and Asia Argento to topline the indie pic. Production is skedded to begin late this fall.
Film is being financed by French foreign sales outfit the Wild Bunch.
Don Murphy ("Bully," "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen") produces via his Angry Films banner, along with Rick Benattar and Civetta's producing partner, Scott Kaplan.
Surreal story follows two troubled boys who were abandoned in adjacent train station lockers as infants and raised in orphanages. They set out together to seek revenge on the women who abandoned them. Lennon would play one of the boys.
