Eve will star and exec produce the telepic, which reunites her with Showtime prexy Bob Greenblatt. Greenblatt -- via his dormant Greenblatt-Janollari shingle -- exec produces the singer's UPN self-titled laffer.
Dubbed "Getting Unstuck," pic will be based on Conscious' autobiography of the same name. Book chronicles how Conscious -- whose real name is Merle Soden -- was molested as a child, contracted HIV from another woman, struggled with homelessness and drugs, and became a producer working on Queen Latifah's short-lived talker.
Ken Gamble and Sylvain White will adapt "Getting Unstuck" for the small screen, with White attached to direct.
Eve and Troy Carter will exec producer the pic via their Irving Wonder Prods., while Kennar will produce via Code Entertainment, which recently changed its name from Neverland Films (Daily Variety, Feb. 23).
Project came together when Kennar met Conscious at a party he threw at his home. He then optioned the material and hooked up with Eve and Carter.
Greenblatt said his experience working with Eve on her UPN laffer of the same name convinced him she'd be right for this role. Pic will "show her off in a way no one's ever seen before," he said.
In addition to working on Queen Latifah's talkshow, Conscious hosted several episodes of Oxygen's "She-Commerce" and worked for Gotham-based BNN.
