Kaos, which recently produced Pax skein "The Magician," also sold documentary series pilot "The Resort" to E! Entertainment Television.
In addition, L.A.-based shingle has named Margie Friedman (the WB's "Popstars") VP of development, overseeing all development efforts for the company, which specializes in non-scripted formats, daytime scripts, service series and documentaries.
Daily struggle
WE has greenlit series "The Secret Lives of Women," which explores the intimate issues, struggles and surprising opportunities facing women today. Viewers will follow a week in the life of three women, each balancing career and family while pursuing their dreams and ambitions.
Kaos also has received an eight-episode order for "HD Gateways," for Discovery Networks' HD Theater. Skein will showcase in high-definition some of the world's more exotic locales in the South Pacific, Australia, southern France, Alaska, Yellowstone National Park and Africa.
Inside 'Resort'
Then there's "Resort," which goes behind the scenes at a tropical resort, capturing interactions between fussy guests and hotel staff.
A longtime producer of nonscripted programs, Friedman has produced E!'s "Facing Fame," Disney Channel's "The Mickey Mouse Club" and CBS' "Ladies Home Journal's Most Fascinating Women of the Year" and "Where Are They Now?"
"Having Margie on board will enable us to come up with new ideas and produce more programming," said Kaos principal John Scheer.
Scheer and Rob Englehardt head the 9-year-old venture, currently in production on 32 hours of original programming including "Mega Machines," which airs on TLC.
