World Brief

MUMBAI -- Subhash Chandra's Zee Network will launch PlayTV, India's first gaming and interactive channel, on March 15.

Apart from online gaming, contests, auctions and shopping, the channel will carry draws of Zee's popular online lottery, Playwin, plus general entertainment including movies and reality shows. Viewers will be able to participate via phone, online or by SMS text messaging.

While just emerging in India, the online gaming industry is estimated to be worth $30 billion worldwide.
