RIO DE JANEIRO -- Following the path of other local nets, Brazil's No. 2 net SBT has created a film division and will co-produce helmer Eliana Fonseca's "Coisa de mulher" (Woman Stuff).

The government is pushing for more cooperation between the wealthy Brazilian terrestrial TV sector and the struggling indie film industry.

TV Globo and TV Record set up Globo Filmes and Record Filmes respectively.

SBT Filmes "is a natural development of SBT and (the net's holding company) Silvio Santos Group," says the net's commercial director Claudio Santos.

Warner will release "Woman Stuff" within three months, says Diler Trindade, the president of pic's leading producer Diler and Associates.

The $1.2 million production is the third feature for Fonseca, who co-wrote the script with Rio's playwriting group "Meninas do Falante."

Trindade describes "Woman Stuff" as a spicy comedy similar to "Sex and the City." It features Adriane Galisteu, Evandro Mesquita and Hebe Camargo.
