From 8 to 9, "American Idol" (11.4 rating/29 share in adults 18-49, 28.1 million viewers overall) beat the other five broadcast nets combined in adults 18-49, and was up vs. its perf on the parallel night of a year ago. Ratings picked up a bit for "NYPD Blue" (second-place 3.6/10 in adults 18-49, 10.6 million viewers overall), one week from its series finale.
CBS was paced by "NCIS" at 8 (3.1/8 in adults 18-49, 14.0 million viewers overall) but didn't do much at 9 with its "One Day at a Time Reunion" spec (2.9/7 in adults 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall).
