Edie Falco is joining Julianne Moore and Samuel L. Jackson in "Freedomland," the adaptation of Richard Price's bestselling novel that Joe Roth is directing for Revolution.

Shooting begins March 31 in New York.

Also joining the cast are Ron Eldard (ABC's upcoming "Blind Justice"), William Forsythe ("City by the Sea"), Anthony Mackie ("Million Dollar Baby") and Aunjanue Ellis ("Ray").

The gritty story concerns the aftermath of a carjacking that becomes a racially charged media sensation. Price has adapted his book into a screenplay.

Scott Rudin, who'd been developing the project at Paramount before it went into turnaround and landed at Revolution, is producing. Exec producing is Charles Newirth.

"The Sopranos" star Falco just wrapped feature "The Great New Wonderful" with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Olympia Dukakis.
